
The Centennial Trail in Woodland Park, Colorado, is a popular, mostly paved, family-friendly path running along Highway 67 north towards Manitou Lakes, offering easy biking through Ponderosa pines with views of Pikes Peak, featuring gentle grades and interpretive signs about local history and ecology. It's a ~15-mile roundtrip (7.4 miles one way), great for all ages, with amenities at the Manitou Lake end and generally considered easy to moderate.

From Colorado Springs, head toward Woodland Park, CO via Hwy 24. Turn right onto North Center Street. We will meet at the Memorial Park in downtown Woodland Park to begin and end the tour. There is plenty of parking and restrooms.

Weathering, particularly frost wedging (ice expanding in cracks) and rain, erodes softer rock layers, leaving a harder, protective rock on top to form a pedestal, eventually creating tall, spire-like structures like those at Bryce Canyon.
